QR & Barcode Scanning Disclaimer

1. Identification and Workflow Tool

EquipmentFlow QR codes and supported common one-dimensional barcodes are identification and workflow tools. A code may link an authorized user to an equipment, fleet, invitation, or record workflow, subject to authentication and access controls. A code is not a sensor, inspection, diagnostic device, lockout device, or safety certification.

2. No Condition or Authorization Verification

Scanning a QR code or barcode does not verify equipment condition, authorize operation, confirm maintenance, certify an inspection, confirm ownership, establish roadworthiness, eliminate hazards, or prove that a record is current. Users must inspect, verify, and use equipment only as authorized by qualified personnel and applicable law.

3. Code Integrity and Access

Customers are responsible for placing codes accurately, protecting them from tampering, replacing damaged or duplicated labels, and confirming that the record reached by a scan is the intended record. Scanner support depends on device capabilities, camera access, code quality, and the selected QR-only, barcode-only, or combined detection mode. EquipmentFlow does not guarantee that every barcode format will be supported or that a code will scan, remain legible, remain linked to the same record, or be available during an outage.

4. Invitations and Security

Invitation QR codes and links may expire, be single-use, or be invalidated. Customers must not publish invitation codes to unauthorized persons and must report suspected exposure promptly. Scanning or possessing a code does not grant rights beyond the access validated by EquipmentFlow.
